Understanding the language of flowers is much more than differentiating a peony from a rose. It is discovering this wonder of nature, using creativity to design true works of art.
Artists such as Mary Lennox, Swallows & Damsons and Soil and Stem have more than 100.000 followers thanks to their unusual bouquets. The most incredible floral art designs are on Instagram.
1. Mary Lennox
The owner of this account with 125.000 followers, Ruby Barber, had to grow with the literary adventures of Frances Hodgson Burnett. One of his masterpieces, “The Secret Garden” (1910), was that which inspired the floral studio in Berlin, Mary Lennox. Her floral compositions, almost poetic, have served as attrezzo for company campaigns, namely: Gucci, Hermès and Zaha Home; and publications such as Vogue and the New York Times have echoed the cinematic arrangements and still lives. An almost plastic version of flowers with the human figure as the co-protagonist.

Anna Potter’s “dreams” flower factory has the name “plum”. Swallows & Damsons creates, from the small workshop in Sheffield, United Kingdom, incredible floral design compositions which impress because of their character and dramatic quality. Decorations which become global due to Instagram, democratising its unique scenographic style.

From UTA in the United States, this florist turned influencer gives her own personality to each ceremony that she decorates. With a philosophy which banks on flowers to be integrated with a natural look in the environment in which they are going to be placed, Winward combines flowers and centerpieces with other natural decorative elements in the bouquets and centerpieces. A specialist in wedding arrangements, her work borders on vintage styles, and her hallmarks are neutral and soft colours.

Her “garden” on Instagram has thousands of likes daily. From The Workshop Flores, a floral art workshop in Madrid, Sally Hambleton creates real floral gems for gifts, events and ceremonies. Belonging to the select club of Destination Weddings, those held outside the couple’s place of residence; Sally Hambleton showcases her talents in many places around the world.

The Parisian designer, Jardine Hansen, has nature engraved in her name. Her love for plants and flowers began in her childhood, wandering through rambling gardens with her grandmother and saying countless lists of botanical names. Her loose arrangements preserve the sense of spontaneity, and the flowers which make them up showcase her romance with nature. Work for weddings, events and private houses which extends through Instagram and which gets as much success among her followers as her dog does, Cedar.
6. Rebecca Louise Law
Nobody makes floral designs like Rebecca Louise Law does. This British artist goes beyond the arrangements and bouquets to create a true setting with flowers and plants, which have her hallmark. Overwhelming scenes of floral art and sculptures made of flowers which combine with the relationship between humanity and nature. Her creations have already been showcased in Athens, Toledo, London or San Francisco.

More than 150.000 people follow Nicola Land’s “floral” path on Instagram. This florist from Utah, in the United States, finds beauty in nature’s imperfections, to which she attaches great aesthetic value. Nicole does workshops all over the world, as well as weddings and events. In each bouquet and floral art arrangement, she tells a story, navigating between the naturally bucolic and oneiric feeling. Her strengths: vintage aesthetic and pastel tones. Cinematographic aura in white and sepia.

With dahlia as the most representative flower, Mexico is a country of flowers and historical ornamental horticulture. Home to one of the most renowned floral art workshops in the world (at least on Instagram), where “The muse of the flowers” now brings more than 120.000 followers together. The creator, Gabriela Salazar, makes up evocative floral compositions, full of intermingled tones and flowers from different origins. With training in art and interior design, her skill manages to fill spaces with character and emotionality.

Alicia and Adam Rico are the marriage which lies behind Bows and Arrows Flowers, a small floral art studio in Texas. Although their main specialisation is wedding arrangements, they define the set design of events inspired by culture, art and landscape. Combining soft tones with strategic colour bursts, they design unique atmospheres in which the objective is to preserve the integrity and natural presence of each flower and its environment.
10. Thierry Boutemy
His strength is the most chic floral art, between decor and fashion design. Considered as being one of the five best designers of haute couture, this French artist with a workshop in Brussels is one of the usual creators of settings for Dior and Lanvin fashion shows, among other brands. A regular celebrity partner and influencer on Instagram, he oversaw Sofia Coppola and Marta Ortega’s (Inditex heiress) weddings, whose bridal bouquet was also designed by him.
